Mind and Psychology

The more I rove my studies in Psychology, I realize that we all need to learn it. Psychology is something we all need to be aware and it's a lot of practice. Knowing the theory is one thing. Using the application is another thing. As a counselor, I truly believe it is important for me to understand the theory and practical aspects in order to not only help others but heal myself too.
Yesterday I started doing some reading on Grief Therapy and it seems to make a lot of sense. The main reason I ventured into this was to study about myself, how I coped with losses in life. As I go deeper, I sense that I have personally gone through various stages without me realizing it cognitively. And now it seems to be that I have a clearer and bigger picture as I understand theoretically and with my personal experiences, I have better ideas on how to help the grieving individuals.
Eventually we all heal but at times it is difficult. So we as families and friends have to find ways to help these victims. As grieving individuals, they too will need to make some efforts to help themselves with people who are willing to understand and guide them accordingly. Interventions can help if an individual wants to help him or herself too. But counselling is a team work, folks.
Keep this in mind and do give some space for such individuals to grief, moan and heal. Time will heal.
