Forgiveness is a Journey

Bryant H. McGill once said, "There is no love without forgiveness and there is no forgiveness without love."

Forgiveness is a Journey. It does not happen over night but again we only Forgive when we Let Go the past. Of course, when the realization arise from within, one will make a conscious decision to walk on that pathway. Forgiving someone means that we accept another person as who they are and move forward with a greater depth of understanding that nobody is perfect in this world.

In fact, it is not an easy effort but neither is it impossible. Generally, human beings resist to forgive only because they are afraid of being hurt again. Hence, they refrain themselves from reaching out to others with love. When one carries these pain, vengence, anger, frustrations etc. within them for a long period of time, they are only hurting themselves further. Eventually these emotions turn into negative vibrations and they deteriorate in life. At times, the vibrations start affecting one's health, their relationships, job performances and personal growth too.

Forgiveness is a noble act which allows us to know the meaning of compassion and empathy. One who walks on the path of Forgiveness will experience the real meaning to be light in mind and emotions. Furthermore, an individual will find inner peace that allows him or her to grow in life prosperously. A person who truly forgives another person will not have memories of the past incidents or painful memories. They will also realize that holding back their feelings is like carrying a heavy sack on their shoulders.

On the other hand, Forgiveness is not only about forgiving others but also forgiving ourselves. How and what does a person do to walk on this Forgiveness Journey? An individual needs to remember that it is a process and it requires a complete surrender and believe from within. Just like the 7 Chakras, there are 7 major steps to Forgiveness.

It is important for us to acknowledge the hurt with great honesty. Once we know the specific pain, we must reflect on how deep the hurt and pain has actually affected us. Journaling the pro's and con's definitely gives a conscious clarity of the reality. As soon as our mind is clear, both the mind and heart will find a way to accept that the past cannot be changed and it does not make any sense to hold on to that pain.

The next thing that one has to do is make a wise decision to Forgive and Let Go the past but also ensure to walk through the process with great determination. Once that is done, than the internal repairs and personal learnings from the experience will actually help one to forgive others and themselves simultaneously. Of course, one will be able to reconnect with the person with sincere kindness and compassion. If the other person is no longer around, one will come to peace through the energy of the Universe.

Different people walk through this path in their unique ways. Some seek forgiveness through prayer while others would write small notes and let it go in a running water. There are a few who will find their personal space in nature such as a waterfall or beach to cry and release the pain from within. The other best way is to heal by practising Heart Chakra meditation for a period of time which will help one to Forgive Others, Let Go the Past and Forgive themselves.

Truly speaking from my personal experiences and observations, Forgiveness is Self-Healing as there are many benefits too. People will have healthier relationships, less stress or anxiety, physical, emotional and mental health will be balanced, greater immune system and happiness, peace and love will be outpouring from one's soul. The individuals become strong, wise and connected to the world or nature with zero expectations.

Forgiveness does not change any past but helps change our perceptions for the future. It definitely refreshes the body, mind and soul. Forgiveness brings Liberation and Freedom to the Soul.
